How’s it going? It’s Dr. Greg Marin here at 1-Spine Chiropractic. Today we’re talking about a treatment option that helps with headaches, especially ones caused by a disc issue.
Spinal Decompression for Headaches
So we have a bad disc…That disc actually protrudes out to the back putting pressure on the nerve. Depending on what spot of the spine it’s on, you’ll have radiating pain down the lower part of the arm. A lot of times if it’s higher up in the cervical spine we’ll have a lot of Suboccipital pain headaches that radiate from the back into the front where the eyes are. So what we do with Spinal Decompression is we set you up on a machine that has a harness attached to the Occipital bone here. So as we’re pulling that Occipital bone with our therapy treatment it’s taking pressure off the nerve getting relief. So there’s less disc pressure on disc and then less pressure on the nerves. This way there’s less pain, less inflammation, less irritation, but more importantly, we’re getting relief from the headaches problem corrected instead of just treating the symptoms with medications.
