How To Tell What Type of Headache I Have | Chiropractor for Headaches in Lubbock, TX
Hi, I’m Dr. Greg Marin here at 1-Spine Chiropractic, we’re going to be discussing headaches today, and there several types of headaches.
Tension Headaches
So we’re talking about some of the most common ones we see here at the office. Number one is a Tension headaches. Generally, they are mild to moderate in the pain that we feel, like it’s in a tight band around your head. You feel these types at the base of your skull as well. You know, this is the most common type of headache, very common here at the office, and it gets treated by Chiropractic all the time. It could either come from muscle tension, trigger points, or spinal dysfunction.
Migraine Headaches
The second type of headache we see most often here is a Migraine headache. Pain can be throbbing, pulsating, and extreme through one eye or one side of the head. They could also cause some nausea and vomiting, even sensitivity to light and sound. Some people see an aura as well, but are very difficult and tough to deal with. So we want to make sure that if you’re experiencing that we you get into our office for treatment and relief.
Cluster Headaches & Allergies
Third type of headache we see quite often here at the office is a Cluster headache. The Cluster headache is one of the most painful types of headaches, because it wakes you up in the middle of night. You get a pain around one eye on one side of your head. Another thing is cluster headaches pierce can last weeks, days, up to even months if it doesn’t get any better as well. So visit our office if you need help with that type of headache. We see allergy and sinus headaches living out here in West Texas a lot. Unfortunately, weather is not great all the time, so we deal with dust, changes in temps and whatnot. So it feels like we have all the pressure around our eyed, our cheeks, our foreheads. So getting your spine adjusted helps that, but more importantly, we could actually specifically work on those sinuses to open up those cavities and get things to drain and feel better quicker.
Cervicogenic Headaches
Okay, now the thing is Cervicogenic headaches, the pain comes from problems in the neck. It’s also built in the head and that’s what we specialize in. That’s what I experienced in college, and what you’re going to do is see a chiropractor for the first time with Cervicogenic headaches. This type of headache can lead to some other injuries like headaches, blurred vision, nausea, and other things like that could come from Cervicogenic headaches. It starts in the back of the head, wraps around the front, but also you get pain and stiffness in the upper back and neck.
If you feel like you’re experiencing any of these headaches at home, visit our office or visit our website. Thank you!
