Hi, I’m Dr. Haddock with 1-Spine Chiropractic, and today my patient is complaining of knee pain. He plays a lot of sports and lifts a lot of weights, and he has a lot of tension and swelling in his knee. So, we’re going to be treating the knee pain today.
Combining Acupuncture and Chiropractic Care
We love combining acupuncture and chiropractic care to help give us better pain management because we can quickly get rid of pain, inflammation, and muscle spasms.
First of all, I’m going to begin by prepping the area. I’m going to place some needles in the area, and we’re also going to try some electroacupuncture to better stimulate these points. This will help get rid of a lot of the swelling that he’s experiencing.
One more.
We usually leave these needles in for about 20 minutes and let the patient relax.
Applying Electroacupuncture
I’m going to apply the electro stim right here.
Okay. All right, we’re going to turn this on real slow, okay? Let me know when you feel it.
“A little bit. I got it.”
Okay, we’re going to do the other side. Right there.
We’ll leave this going for about 20 minutes to help get rid of the inflammation.
What to Expect After Treatment
Once the patient is done with his treatment, he may feel immediate relief, and sometimes it may take a few days. Acupuncture is cumulative, so it gets better and better as we start treating them.
We ask that you drink plenty of water and get plenty of rest. Avoid caffeine and alcohol after your treatments.
