Preparing for the Acupuncture Treatment

Hi, I’m Dr. Haddock with One Spine Chiropractic, and I’ve been practicing acupuncture and chiropractic for about 15 years. I went to Texas Chiropractic College down in Houston.

Today, we’re going to be doing acupuncture for my patient here who has chronic low back pain. I’m going to start by prepping the area before I place the needles.

Placing the Acupuncture Needles

I’m going to place a few needles in the area where he’s complaining of muscle spasms and nerve pain. We’ll put a couple more in there.

What’s going to happen is that this will open up these energy channels and bring fresh blood to the area. This also releases endorphins, which are your feel-good chemicals. That helps the body get rid of the inflammation and stress that it has.

Acupuncture and Chiropractic Adjustment

Once we’re done with the acupuncture treatment, we usually like to give the patient an adjustment because this gives us better pain management and helps us quickly get rid of the pain, inflammation, and muscle spasms.

1-Spine Chiropractic

You have one spine, one body and one life. You need to make the most of what you’ve got! You only have one chance to live the life you want. We all suffer daily wear and tear on our bodies, but we have a choice when it comes to how we recover from the stress that life throws at us. You don’t need to rely on drugs or surgery to feel better and live fully. Chiropractic is a nonsurgical, drug-free way to find relief from pain and help your body heal itself.
