The Reason for 80% of Headaches | Chiropractor for Headaches in Lubbock, TX
How’s it going? It’s Dr. Greg Marin here on 1-Spine Chiropractic. Today we’re gonna be talking about why we know the main reason we treat patients with headaches are subluxations.
How Subluxations Cause Headaches
Actually 80% of headaches are caused by a subluxation and, unfortunately, medical doctors do not diagnose it. So here, as Chiropractors, we diagnose and treat headaches and subluxation by getting to the root of the problem. So what happens is we evaluate the bone to see where the bones are stuck. Once we find where the bone is stuck and restricted, that’s usually or area that’s causing some issues. This can be putting pressure on the nerve, causing constant pain, inflammation, irritation. Also when a bone is stuck for a period of time time it can cause arthritis and degeneration. So what we want to do is get this problem corrected early and get things feeling better to get you rid of headaches and get everything functioning properly. So let’s take a look this adjustment now.
How Our Chiropractic Care Helps
So what we want to do first in our Chiropractic exam is palpate the bones to see where the restriction is at. Once we find that restriction, we know exactly what we need to do to adjust and get some relief. So with this patient, here, we have some restriction on the lower left side. So what we’re doing is, we found that restriction, so we’re gonna get a position to put that low back in place to get some relief. This way it’s nice and easy to stretch. There we go. So that’s the one. So another thing is we’re going to evaluate the Occiput, which is the way your skull sits on the first two bones of the neck. The first few bones or your neck are known as your Atlas and your Axis. Oftentimes, those get restricted, causing Suboccipital tension, Suboccipital headaches, and Cervicogenic headaches. So it’s another thing we need to evaluate here at office. So we’re going to adjust this patient to make sure some of that inflammation is gone. We want to get the nerves functioning better, but more importantly, make sure the headaches are gone for the long term.
